What's up my friends? Welcome to Side Hustle School. Welcome to a brand new year. That's right, a brand new year, an all-new season. I'm going to tell you today how year nine of Side Hustle School will work. We're going to introduce some new features, new music, and another 365 days of
episodes. That's right, the podcast comes out every day, as it has been doing for the past 2923 days, all the way from January 1, 2017 to today. I want to welcome our longtime listeners, especially folks who've been around for years. Thank you so much. What a journey it's been.
I had no idea we were going to keep going after year one. Here we are now, all these years later. And I also want to welcome new listeners. If you have just discovered the podcast, well, welcome. You are in the right place. You don't have to go back and listen to all 2,922 episodes
before this one, although you are certainly welcome to. They are all completely free, all available in the archives, but you can also just catch up right now. So what's it all about? If you are new, well, Side Hustle School is about helping you create economic empowerment. It's about helping you make extra money without quitting your job, to put it even more simply.
One thing I strongly believe is that not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur or needs to be an entrepreneur, but everyone needs extra income. Everyone needs more than one source of income. And there's a way to make that happen by using a skill you already have without going into debt or even spending a lot of money at all. And in a way that can be a lot of fun. We like to share stories, case studies, questions and answers, actionable tips, inspiration, little points of contact you can take into your day in a short action packed episode. Again, every single day,
seven days a week, 365 episodes this year, we are going to continue that format for this season. Number nine, we're going to introduce two new segment styles. You're going to hear about those in a few days. I think the first one's coming up in four or five days. And then the next one, a couple of days after that, we might mix some things up somewhere midpoint throughout the year.
But for now, we like what we're doing. We're really happy to keep bringing you the show. I do want to say a special thanks to Chuck Reed, our producer. He's in charge of all the music, among other things. And he's actually remixed a bunch of stuff for this year. So you're going
to hear lots of new side hustle school tunes. And as long as you are subscribed or following, which you can do in your podcast app or wherever you get your shows, new episodes will roll out to your device every single day. Now listen, I don't take anything for granted. So if there is a way we can improve, if there's a way we can serve you better, please let me know I am listening. But for now, I'll say there is no paywall to the site. There's no membership community you need
to pay for to access any of those 2900 archival episodes. And we're able to do that because of the limited advertising model. So I really appreciate our sponsors as well for making that possible. Let's have one of those quick sponsor messages now. And when we return, a bit more on how you can be involved. All right, so we have a feature we call side hustle labs.
I haven't talked about it recently. But throughout the course of the years of making the show, we like to feature reader stories, reader examples, understand what people are doing. And some of the impact the show has made, of course, you have made the impact. Let me just be clear, our listeners are the ones doing the work. But it's fun that we have been a little bit of an intersection point or perhaps a amplifier in some ways. So if you have a side hustle story,
if you have a story of how you've applied something that you've heard from one of the episodes, perhaps, or from one of the stories of one of my books, I would love to hear about it. And here's a little hack because you can write to me on sidehustleschool.com. But sometimes I see messages sooner if they come to my main website, which is chrisguillebeau.com. You get bonus points if you can spell it. Chris, C-H-R-I-S-G-U-I-L-L-E-B-E-A-U.com. Those messages
go directly to me. So I'd love to know what's going on in your world. And perhaps we can use it as some sort of feature this year. And also, a lot of people have asked me, do I have something for sale? Well, guess what? Not really. I mean, I have some things, but I actually do 90% of my
work for free. And I'm very happy about that. I do have a sub stack newsletter. It's called A Year of Mental Health. I started it last year. I wrote three times a week. I'm going to change
the frequency a bit this year, but it continues. So you can learn about that at yearofmentalhealth.com. Again, yearofmentalhealth.com. Subscription there is less than $6 a month if you pay for a year. I also have a course called Doing Things. I'm going to talk a little bit more about that
at some point. Doing Things, a course in neurodivergent productivity. I also have a book coming out April 15th. It's called Time Anxiety. I'm super excited about this book. It's Time Anxiety, The Illusion of Urgency, and A Better Way to Live. I've been working on
this book for more than two years. It is probably my most personal book ever. It comes out April 15th. I can't wait to share it with you. I'm also doing a new event. That's the last thing,
my event, Neurodivergent. It is a celebration of unique minds for all things neurodivergent. You can learn more about that at neurodivergent.org. It takes place in Austin at the end of March. So I'm doing a bunch of stuff, as you can tell. But again, the podcast comes out every single day.
It is always free. I'm really proud of that. So that's pretty much it. That's pretty much it for the start of 2025. We're going to get into it starting with tomorrow's episode. We're going
to talk about a cookie ATM. That's right. An ATM where you get cookies instead of money. It's nice to get money out of an ATM, but it's cool to get cookies as well. That's just one of many stories that we have for you coming up in the weeks and months to come. Our entire goal here, our mission
every single day, is to make your life better. So with that, I want to say happy 2025, my friends. The best is yet to come. From the Onward Project
