Today's caller has a new project they're excited about — potentially a brand, a book, a business — and they're wondering whether to start posting on Instagram now or wait until it's more developed.

Overall: don't overthink it. The difference between starting social media now vs. in a few months probably won't be decisive. Go with your instinct.

That said, if you want a specific vote: wait. Focus on making the project as good as it can be — not perfect, but genuinely ready. There's something powerful about being able to say "here it is" rather than "here's this thing I'm working on." Announcing too early can create pressure that doesn't help and expectations that are hard to manage.

The goal is momentum in the work itself first, then momentum in the audience. The second follows from the first.
