Mia from Sydney is venturing into the world of Fulfilled by Amazon. She wants to become a Fulfilled by Amazon seller. Lots of our listeners are doing the same thing or have done the same thing over the years. Amazon, obviously a huge global marketplace, the largest global marketplace, and you can sell items and reach customers. They do so much for you.

Obviously they take a good amount of the money, but that's just how it works. And her primary concern, which really should be anyone's primary concern in this world, is how do you find the right products? Like how do you find the products with the high sales potential, the healthy profit margin, and in as less competitive a space as possible, which is a challenge to hit all of that at once. So success on Amazon, and Fulfilled by Amazon specifically, hinges on meticulous product selection and the research behind it. So let's talk about some strategies and tools that can streamline this process, helping her and anybody else who make informed decisions about inventory.

How do you find the best products Fulfilled by Amazon? Detailed question, my answer in just 30 seconds. [Music]

Hi, I'm Mia from Sydney, and I've enjoyed listening to your podcast off and on for several years now. I'm interested in starting an Amazon FBA business, especially one that could sell to US customers even, as I'm based in Australia. My biggest challenge is figuring out how to find the best products that will not only sell, but also provide a good profit margin.

Are there specific strategies or tools I should use to research and source products for FBA? [Music]

Hey Mia, great question. Thanks for listening from my favorite city in the world, Sydney, Australia, I miss it so much. Hopefully get a chance to go back soon. And yes, you can from Australia or anywhere else, operate a Fulfilled by Amazon business that markets, particularly to US customers, obviously the largest e-commerce market in the world.

So that's why that's advantageous to do. And in terms of figuring out, okay, what are the best products, best products for the best profit margin, best suited to your knowledge and so on, like how do you filter that out? Good news is there's some software that does this for you, and it's probably gonna do a better job than any individual could do on their own. It's all powered by AI. It's like some proprietary stuff that these companies have built because it's such a huge market, like they put a lot into it.

So there are a number of providers. I don't have a single recommendation and none of this has any sort of sponsorship element, but I do just generally recommend, 'cause I know people have used them. Jungle Scout is one, Helium 10 is another. And if you're looking for these, just go and Google FBA software or FBA trends or FBA analysis. They're all gonna show you these sponsored links from these companies.

Jungle Scout, Helium, Amazon itself makes a number of tools and has acquired some third-party tools. Over the years, there's one called ThomasNet, and then Alibaba itself also has tools. So all of these can be helpful for different ways. It's definitely something you wanna spend a good amount of time researching. If you wanna dive in and spend hours on this, you're not gonna be successful with just some surface knowledge, but the information is not hidden.

Like there's a clear process to go about learning more about this. And so I would definitely recommend you check out these different offerings from these companies, maybe try them out if they have trials, see what kind of free guides, and if they have like a low-priced or a no-price subscription option, that can be helpful as well. And so what they all do in different ways is show you trends and show you products that are kind of taking off. And there's more steps to be done after that, but this level of analysis is really invaluable when you're trying to figure out what do I sell on Fulfilled by Amazon. So you do that, and then there's a lot more to say from there, but basically you want to pick a first product and start small, do some testing with actual products where you're selling to real customers, hopefully without spending a ton of money, but you're definitely gonna have to spend some to jump in and then see what happens.

Like, do I keep selling more of this? Do I sell other products? Do I go deep in a single area or niche or do I sell a bunch of related stuff? I mean, there's lots of different approaches from there. There are courses, there are long case studies, but I would start with one of these tools.

Again, Jungle Scout, Helium 10, Thomas Net. There could be others. Those are just the ones that I'm familiar with to do that initial analysis and learn from there. Cheering you on, as always. We got lots of people out there doing Fulfilled by Amazon in different ways.

Let me know what's been successful for you so I can share that with the rest of our community. We've got new episodes coming out every day. I'm gonna bring you some updates from previous case studies and such as we move to the second quarter of the year very soon here. And of course, I hope you'll continue to join.
