I believe we can learn as much from failure as from success. It's with that in mind that I offer Failure Friday: short stories about mistakes, missteps, and disasters.

Today's story features Lou Haverty from Philadelphia. Lou had learned to set up and operate affiliate websites that earned up to $2,500 a month, then sold them for a good profit. But after he had the unfortunate experience of being hit by a car, the public knowledge of his business was used against him during the settlement process.

It's a reminder to let go of the things outside your control — something I've had to do many times myself. I respect Lou's positivity in the middle of difficult circumstances, and I hope to feature his future success story down the road.
