But in order to participate in those systems and have access to the number of people available on any given platform, you have to agree to the terms. Nobody is forcing you to do this. If you don't like it, don't participate. And furthermore, if you think you can do better, you're more than welcome to go somewhere else! But keep in mind that you're not just paying for using the service—you're also paying for the reach that these services have and the convenience they offer. Life is short—ask yourself what you can do to get you one step closer to the goals that you believe in.
