Today's story is another example of someone who was frustrated with the quality of products available and decided to improve upon it (See Ep. 6, Ep. 10, and Ep. 48 for more examples of this theme).
After discovering that her daughter and her friends opted to not use face paint at events because it caused their skin to break out or stain their clothes, Adrienne went in search of find a better alternative. What she found instead was that many of these popular face paints were not only bad for sensitive skin but toxic as well.
Frustrated, she began to develop a better alternative. The result was a face paint that not only looked great but had spa quality face mask properties as well. FanMasque was born, and she created an easy storefront on Shopify to start taking orders.
Fun Fact
To get FanMasque out to the masses, she joined a service called HARO (Help a Reporter Out) that connects journalists with sources. For Adrienne, it was helpful because she responded to a query from a TODAY show producer looking for summertime sports products, and the show ended up featuring Fan Masque in a short segment.
Despite her product only being featured on the show for two seconds, it was enough to immediately bring a bunch of new customers and inquiries to her site 10 minutes later.
